SEMRET

Semret leads a modest and somewhat isolated life in Zurich with her teenage daughter Joe. She works in a hospital and enrolls to become a midwife. When Joe starts asking questions about her Eritrean roots, Semret can no longer ignore her past. With the help of Yemane, a new hospital employee who is also a refugee from Eritrea, she is finally able to confront the traumatic memories of her escape.
